The Banjo Ukulele Society:

The Banjo Ukulele Society (B.U.S.) was established by Alan Yates Music with the help of a group of friends who bonded over their shared love for the banjo ukulele. B.U.S. officially embarked on its journey on 19/11/2022, welcoming banjo ukulele enthusiasts from around the globe.

At Alan Yates Music, we heard many times over the years people expressing the lack of communities specifically for banjo ukulele lovers, a place where you can connect with fellow enthusiasts, and find all things banjo ukulele-related in a single location. So we came up with the Banjo Ukulele Society!

So, what can you expect from the Banjo Ukulele Society? Well, a thriving community awaits you. Connect and interact with fellow banjo ukulele enthusiasts who share your passion and dedication. Celebrate the joys and challenges of playing this unique instrument together.
We invite all banjo ukulele players to contribute to the community whatever your level.

So, hop on board the Banjo Ukulele Society B.U.S.! Together, let's embark on a melodious journey while connecting with fellow enthusiasts, expanding our skills, and embracing the camaraderie of a community that shares our love for the banjo ukulele. Remember, our doors are open to banjo ukulele aficionados from all walks of life, so come along and join us - All aboard, ting ting!

The Banjo Ukulele Society Founders:

I have been around the instrument all my life. Between family, friends and work, the banjo ukulele has never been far away.

Through the banjo uke I have been presented with fabulous opportunities, made amazing memories along the way, and made some wonderful friends who have become like family.

I have been playing the banjo ukulele for over 35 years. I originally wanted to learn to play the guitar only my hands were too small to get around the guitar neck as I was only a young lad.

I have been blessed to turn my love for the banjo uke into a professional career - playing, teaching, repairing, restoring and selling.

Along my journey I have met some truly amazing people who have become great friends

A special thanks goes to our friends who were instrumental in helping us embark on this journey from the very beginning.

Your support allowed us to focus on completing other ongoing projects without hesitation. The Banjo Ukulele Society is now managed solely by Alan and Alyson, which grants our friends the freedom to pursue their own creative endeavours. We are eternally grateful for the time and effort you dedicated to our cause, and we take comfort in knowing you are never far away. Thank you for being an integral part of our story.
