Grahame Greenfield Gibson UB2 Copy
At Alan Yates Music, we believe that every musical instrument has a story to tell. From the moment they are crafted, they become vessels of creativity and emotion, accompanying musicians on their artistic journeys. This lovely banjo ukulele is no exception. In the year 2020, its loyal owner decided it was time to give this beloved instrument a little TLC.
First, we cleaned and polished the woodwork, breathing new life into its tactile appeal. Each stroke of the polishing cloth was met with years of finger-picking and strumming, evoking memories of melodies once played upon its strings. The banjo ukulele's metal components were also given careful attention, polished to restore their brilliance and lustre. Moving on to the fretboard, we embarked on a process of renewal. With every meticulous touch, we cleansed and treated the surface, removing any accumulated dirt or residue. The frets, were polished to regain their smoothness, ensuring effortless transitions along the instrument's neck. A new nut was fitted enabling precise intonation and enhancing the banjo ukulele's tonal clarity. We re-set the action, ensuring that the strings resonated harmoniously with the fretboard. The banjo ukulele underwent a professional set-up, adjusted to achieve the perfect balance between string tension and playability.
As the banjo ukulele journeyed through our workshop, it was not just transformed physically, but also emotionally as the owner was thrilled with the work carried out. Its restoration was akin to a revitalization of its musical spirit, ready to accompany its owner on new musical endeavours.
Now, in the present day, this lovely banjo ukulele stands as a testament to the power of care and craftsmanship. Its polished woodwork and revitalized fretboard beckon to the hands of musicians, ready to once again immerse themselves in the enchanting world of music. We are proud to have helped preserve and enhance the legacy of this treasured instrument, ensuring that it continues to be cherished for years to come.
